SonarDesk brings your SonarQube projects into a dedicated native macOS application, giving developers a faster and clearer way to review code quality without constantly switching back to the browser.

This release focuses on project management, issue investigation, reporting and a polished native Mac experience.

What’s New

Project Dashboard
Get an immediate overview of your SonarQube projects, including bugs, vulnerabilities, security hotspots, code smells, coverage and other key quality metrics.

Detailed Issue Inspection
Open individual issues directly in SonarDesk to see the information you need to understand the problem, including severity, location, rule information and available remediation details.

Project Aliases
Give projects friendlier names inside SonarDesk. Aliases are stored locally and only change how the project is displayed in SonarDesk — the original SonarQube project name and project key remain untouched.

Project Organisation
Reorder projects to organise your workspace the way you want it. Your preferred ordering is retained between sessions.

AI Analysis Reports
Export project information as a structured report designed to make it easier to provide code-quality findings to AI development tools for further analysis and remediation.

PDF Reports
Generate professional PDF reports containing project metrics and analysis, suitable for sharing, reviewing or retaining as part of project documentation.

Scanner Setup Assistance
SonarDesk can generate the scanner configuration and commands required for a project, making it considerably easier to connect new codebases to SonarQube.

Quality Metrics
Explore project-level metrics and quickly move between projects without having to navigate through the full SonarQube web interface.

Native macOS Experience
SonarDesk has been designed specifically for macOS, with native navigation, Dark and Light Mode support, familiar controls and integration with standard Mac workflows.

Licensing

SonarDesk is available in two editions:

Personal — designed for individual developers, with activation on one Mac.

Professional — designed for developers working across multiple Macs, with up to three activations.

Both monthly and annual subscriptions are available.

Distribution & Security

SonarDesk is distributed directly for macOS and uses secure licence activation and validation through the SonarDesk licensing service.

Release builds connect exclusively to the production SonarDesk services. Development and staging environments remain isolated from distributed builds.

Improvements & Fixes

This release also includes improvements to application stability, project navigation, sidebar presentation, Light and Dark Mode consistency, application icons and branding, licence persistence, report generation and PDF rendering.

Numerous smaller interface refinements have also been made throughout the application to provide a more consistent and professional experience.

System Requirements

SonarDesk requires macOS and access to a compatible SonarQube Server instance. Your Mac must be able to connect to the SonarQube server you want to manage.
